About Coaching Development at Coaching Hampshire & IOW

Coaching Hampshire & IOW's Coaching Development encompasses four core strands of work designed to support coaches and the coaching industry across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.
The four strands include: -

1. Workforce Development and Scholarships
   This involves identifying strengths and weaknesses in the coaching system i.e. Where are the coaching gaps, and how can we find resources to develop more, better qualified and more experienced coaches to fulfil local needs. We also allocate coaching sholarships to coaches who are Level 1 and above.
2. Coach Education, Multi-skills & CPD
   We not only create bespoke training solutions, but we also signpost those looking for coach education and CPD to the various training providers across the county and beyond. If you're a training provider then we can advertise your opportunities as well.
3. Mapping, profiling and advertising of coaching opportunities
   We've developed an on-line website that allows us to map coaching activity, profile coaches and advertise coaching opportunities. For those looking to coach voluntarily or wanting to make coaching their part-time or full-time profession this is the perfect personal development management solution.
4. Supporting the Coach Support Network
   Coaches are supported by a vast range of agencies and organisations including National Governing Bodies, Sports Coach UK, Local Sports Development, the commercial sector and voluntary clubs. As part of the Coach Support Support Network our roles is to connect the dots for coaches and agencies to ensure that we create a support mechanism for coaches which takes account of local priorities and meets the needs and expectations of our sports clubs, commercial partners and coaches.
5. UK Coaching Framework
   Coaching will play a key role in the period ahead, providing exciting and rewarding pathways for many young people and adults in sport, as well as the extra edge that will help our athletes get to the top of the world. sports coach UK is committed to working with governing bodies and all other agencies to ensure that the necessary coaching infrastructure is in place to make this happen at all levels of our system.
